Life is good, but hectic

Those of you who follow regularly, so sorry I haven't been posting more. Sometimes life gets a little hectic and I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging. Plus, I think I need to learn how to manage my time better, lol. Not so good at that... I just kind of go with the flow. But all in all I'm so excited about what's going on in my life and am loving every minute!

I started my new job and am already loving it! And I'm still working at the cooking school until I become full time at the Graphics company, so I'm certainly going to be busy!

And take a look at my new beauties... I love them!

Will have another post this evening with a cute card I made! Then on Thursday I will post my new challenge so be on the look out! I'm excited to get back to what I enjoy most and truly appreciate all the continued support! Ya'll are simply the best!

Back to the Cricut!

Happy Friday everyone!

First off, I wanted to let ya'll know that I GOT THE JOB at the graphics company and I start Monday! I'm so thrilled and I even get to do a little shopping for work clothes (Oh darn!...). It came at the right time to because my hours were just cut at my other job.

Anyways... I finally have sticky Cricut mats, so I'm back in action on the Cricut, YEAH! And oh how I have missed my Cricut! I'm trying to get back into challenges as well and for my card today I'm entering it in the Cricut Cardz Challenge #89. The challenge is to make a child's birthday card using a jungle theme with any cartridge. I went for the more 'cutesy' style and liked how it turned out!

Here's my creation!

Wedding Invite Update

Evening all,

The wedding invites are in print, but I do have a soft copy to show ya'll. The bride went with a red background and black text. And on the finished invite the black text will actually be raised.

This picture looks a little fuzzy, but if you click on it and open it in a new window you can see it a little better!

I kept it in the clear bag because I didn't want to mess it up, lol! When I get the final one I will have a better picture of it! Ah, I'm so happy that this order worked out for me. A huge thanks to this wonderful bride!

25th Anniversary Card

Morning all and what a great one it is! Got my work out in and got a phone call for that potential job. I have an interview tomorrow, yay!

My personal trainer put in an order for a 25th Anniversary card and wanted it to have the colors purple, white & silver. This is a new style card for me, but I had lots of FUN making it!

Since there is a little more work involved in this one, I will tell you how I did it. The card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". After you cut your card base cut out a single 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" layer of the same color. And then my white paper is cut at 5" x 2 1/4" and you have to have 2 of this size.

Next, I stamped my sentiments onto the 2 white layers and you want to make sure that they are centered. Then I took one of my punches, inserted all the way and punched the center and 2 sides (punch almost to the end but not quite). The first punch I made was used for the tab for the slider.

Finally, I placed the sentiment layer I wanted to be seen second to the single layer. Then attached that to the card base, but don't put adhesive on the ends since this is how the card will slide (Just make sure there is an opening on the side).

After you get this done, its really a simple card to make and you can do so much with it! Hope ya'll enjoy and have a great Thursday!

It's so good to be back!

Evening all! I am finally back from my mini vacation and it was wonderful! And I have so much to tell ya'll... some exciting possible opportunities coming my way!

First let me just say I am so thankful to be alive... on our way back from New Mexico we hit a deer going about 60mph. Luckily it didn't go through our windshield, which sure saved us.

Now onto the exciting news! My husband's cousin knows 2 music producers in Nashville and heard me sing and play guitar for the first time and this is what he said:
"Why aren't you in Nashville?... you have some serious talent!"
I was in awe of course, I guess I sell myself short sometimes. Well he wants me to record 2 songs and an original song and then he's going to send it off to those producers. You never know until you try!

And finally, I might have a potential job opportunity... my first big break! I am praying long and hard for this one. There is a position available for a graphics company where I live and the owner spoke to me personally and said he was looking for someone new! I am all over this one! Have revamped my resume and sent it out! Will let ya'll know the outcome asap!

Here's a few pics from my trip. I will have more projects to show ya'll starting tomorrow evening!

Had so much FUN and I love my wonderful new family! All of them are incredible! Have lots coming ya'lls way! Have a good one all!

No Internet!

Afternoon all my lovely bloggers! I am blogging from work as I will be out of Internet at home for about 1&1/2 weeks. I will try to do some scheduled post if I can. Then I'm heading on quite a road trip beginning Wednesday... driving to Corpus then to Lubbock & finally New Mexico. And of course I have to drive all that way back too! Should be fun though!

In other news I had another wedding order come in from Alaska! So exciting! The wedding will actually be in California though. Below is the first design sample I made, but will also be making a few more. I like to provide a few options. As soon as I make those I will of course show them off to ya'll!

Invite:

RSVP:

If the bride decides to go with this one it will go on a black pocketfold card base and be sealed with a dark red "S" wax seal!

Hope you enjoy and I will try my best to post some more exciting things before I leave town!

Simple Cards

I am running on barely any energy this week... these long 10-12 hour shifts at work are killers. Plus it was 105 degrees today... I'm melting away over here! I am so looking forward to my mini vacation next week though!

As promised here are the cards that the gals designed and they are so cute! I got to make each one of them myself, so much fun!

Still working on my business plan and have been pricing retail space for my shop. The cheapest I found was $1310 a month which isn't too bad. I've also had another wedding order come in all the way from Alaska and I'm very excited about this one!

Hope everyone is enjoying their week!
